Who can take riding lessons?

Children ages 3 and up, adults of all ages, Beginners, Intermediate or advanced riders competing at competitions. Anyone that has an interest in horseback riding or even own their own horses.

What types of lessons are taught at Dry Creek Equestrian Center?

Private Lessons are one student with one instructor and one horse/pony for one hour. At your first lessons, handling the horse, grooming and tacking up are taught. Then, once we know you can do it, and you feel ready, we ask you to come about 30-45 minutes before your lesson and get your horse, groom it, and tack it up. Then, you can be in the arena at the scheduled time of your lesson and ride for an hour before untacking and grooming your horse again.

We also offer Semi-Private (2 riders) and Group Lessons (up to 4 riders) after riders have completed one month of private lessons and are matched to a suitable group.

When can lessons be scheduled at Dry Creek Equestrian Center?

- Lessons are held Monday - Sunday. You pick a day and time that works for you, and we keep that lesson time week after week. If you need to cancel a lesson, you must cancel 24 hours in advance in order to avoid charges.
- We suggest you take a minimum of one lesson/week for recreational riders, and we encourage two lessons/week for maximum progress for those competing at horse shows.
- You may come and practice on the lesson horses after your instructor has given you permission and after completing a skills checklist. Ask your instructor for more details about practice riding.
- Lessons must be paid in advance by either purchasing a package of lessons or by paying for your lesson by check or cash before the lesson begins. Payment must be made online before your lesson or you will be expected to have a cash or check payment ready before your lesson.
